As an example a 3ft mattress has 550 springs.Laybrook makes all mattresses for the individual customers weight and how they like the feel, soft, medium or firm and with different toppings either Q-flex foam, memory foam or natural fillings. The standard pocket sprung mattress has a foam topping over the springs to give great support.
