Description
The Imai Bottle for the 1988 Vintage scored 94/100 Parker points. Drawing on influences from both the eastern and western art worlds, Japanese painter and poet Imai’s inspiration arises from his appreciation of nature and his endless quest for beauty. Referred to as an artist “who stands at the crossroads where all roads meet,” Imai imbues his work with an intellectual and highly symbolic content, fusing complex, delicate designs with bold, vibrant colors. The former are often reflections of shapes found in nature; the latter carry meaning independent of form in the Japanese system of symbols. The 1988 vintage was a classic, moderately abundant vintage which produced aromatic wines of particularly exceptional balance. A content of 55 percent Chardonnay lends this cuvée superb elegance, freshness and refinement, with a finely-wrought structure promising excellent future potential. Drink now – 2024. This stunning champagne scored 94 Wine Society points. This vintage Champagne is shipped in its original designer presentation box with four wine accessories (corkscrew, wine pourer, drip stopper & wine thermometer) [worth £17.99] at no extra cost and now includes a free gift card with your personal message and tasting and storage notes.
